Kevin's contribution to the Umpires' League is best recognised as the traditional clubman. A worker who has provided tireless effort and genuine endeavour in whatever capacity the League has requested. Some of his peers comment that if the League had two hundred members with Kevin's commitment the League would be an extraordinary organisation.

A sound performance contributing 37 years of continuous service.Training Supervisor for twenty of those and matador at a game at Carlisle River in 1968. Having umpired fairly and without favour, John was bewildered when he found all the players had left the field. Had he not heard the siren? Was it something he said? Or was it the young bull who had wandered on to the ground, knowing it to be his paddock the other six days of the week. The Herald picked up the tale and included a cartoonists impression of the event.

Alan "Flutters" McLean was one of, if not the best sports administrators in the experience of many members of the League. Alan was Secretary, and then General Manager, over a continuous nineteen year period and maintained the high standard of administration established by Col Eliot and Everett Foster.
